Directional Drill bit sticking out of ground for horizontal directional drilling

What is Horizontal Directional Drilling, or HDD?

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), or Directional Boring is a trenchless method of installing utility lines under obstacles or sensitive surfaces. This method has a very little footprint or impact on surrounding surfaces. This process is cost effective and definitely more appealing than aerial services. Blue Mountain Directional Drilling has exclusively Vermeer drills: 16x20, 36x50, 40x55, 100x120, 330x500. Pictured in the left is our drill bit sticking out of the ground. Our drill is parked over 300 feet away and we drilled under a river bed, two creek, trees, and private property.

Hydrovac truck / Potholing / Vacuum Excavation

What is it and how is it used?

Hydrovac, potholing, or vacuum excavation uses high pressure water and a vacuum system to remove soil. The water pressure will break apart the soil without damaging or cutting any utilities in the ground. A Hydrovac truck is the safest and most efficient way to expose existing utilities or trench where existing utilities intersect. Blue Mountain Directional Drilling can do it in any weather! We have 3 hydro excavation trucks and 3 hydro excavation trailers.
